Senior Achievement Prize for Excellence in Creative Writing

This prize is awarded to the graduating senior with an outstanding record or accomplishment in creative writing.

"In her senior year, Rachel Kirkwood has produced two excellent short stories, “Landfill” and “Leo Season,” both of which are extremely confident, withering, precise, and complex. She has also written an honors thesis in creative nonfiction in which she explores the meaning and resonance of places in New Orleans through her astute powers of observation and contemplation."
