The story behind building a greener New Orleans -
Thrive New Orleans Green Infrastructure Programs
When leading marketing at Thrive New Orleans, digital storytelling was essential in depicting our impact to the public. One top priority was highlighting our newest pilot program, Thrive Works Green. As National Disaster Resilience Operator for the City of New Orleans, we were responsible for bringing locals into the green infrastructure industry. Using several mediums (video, photography, graphic design, and writing), I captured their journey.

Bernell's Story:
Humans of a Thriving New Orleans
“I’m a virgo,” Bernell references his earth-based zodiac sign, “So, of course, I’m a plant guy. I love the earth. So, I wanted to be a part of saving the world… and I wanted to be a part of Green Infrastructure. Definitely.”

Devon's Story:
Humans of a Thriving New Orleans
"In the green infrastructure process, my favorite part is excavation. It’s the foundation and beginning of what’s to come. I like that because I feel like I’m part of the beginning of something that’s about to be created," Devon Jones (NDR Cohort 1 Graduate) tells us.
ThriveWorks Green has been Devon's foundation and introduction to his desired field, Landscape Architecture. He chose to stay on with us into Phase 2 to solidify his skills installing stormwater interventions. About his future, he says, "In 5 years, I see myself adding to the city and the culture here in a positive way. Actually following the vision of Thrive and being a leader in this field. I keep following my leaders and will one day become a leader. "
